Amber’s (Sugar-Free, Gluten-Free, Vegan) BBQ Sauce

Sugar-Free/Gluten-Free/Vegan is GOOD!.

Ingredients

1-2 Tbsp. canola oil
1/4 cup onion, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 bottle sugar-free ketchup (i.e. Westbrae)
1 Tbsp. Coleman’s mustard powder
1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
2 tsp. () vegan worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. liquid smoke
Sweetener of choice, to taste (i.e. brown sugar, molasses, honey, Splenda, stevia, etc.)
Kosher salt, to taste

Cooking Instructions

Additional Ingredients: Fresh ground black pepper, to taste Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste Directions: Heat oil in saucepan over medium high heat. Add onions, cooking for a couple of minutes until translucent. Add garlic and continue cooking one minute. Add remaining measured ingredients, stir, and bring to simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to blend. Lower heat, add remaining ingredients, and adjust flavor as needed. Brush onto proteins or vegetables before and/or after grilling.
